🍗 Sweet & Savory Chicken Breast with Rice 🍚✨
🔥 Juicy, tender chicken breast coated in a delicious sweet and savory sauce, served over fluffy rice—this dish is packed with flavor and perfect for any meal!
🥘 Ingredients:
For the Chicken:
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
1 tbsp cornstarch (for crispiness)
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
For the Sweet & Savory Sauce:
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tsp ginger (grated)
½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (to thicken the sauce)
For the Rice:
1 cup jasmine or basmati rice
2 cups water
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp butter (optional, for flavor)
For Garnish:
1 tbsp sesame seeds
2 tbsp chopped green onions
👨🍳 Instructions:
1️⃣ Cook the Rice:
Rinse rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
In a pot, bring water, salt, and butter to a boil.
Add rice, cover, and reduce heat to low. Let simmer for 15 minutes until fluffy.
Fluff with a fork and set aside.
2️⃣ Prepare the Chicken:
Toss chicken pieces with cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Heat olive oil and butter in a pan over medium-high heat.
Cook the chicken pieces for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked.
Remove from the pan and set aside.
3️⃣ Make the Sweet & Savory Sauce:
In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds.
Add soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
Stir it into the sauce and let it simmer until thickened (1-2 minutes).
4️⃣ Combine & Serve:
Add the cooked chicken back into the pan, tossing to coat in the sauce.
Serve over steamed rice.
Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
