Ingredients:


    1 lb lean ground beef or chicken

    1 onion, finely chopped

    5 Yukon gold potatoes, sliced thin

    1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese

    3/4 cup sour cream

    1/3 cup milk

    Salt, pepper, and thyme for seasoning


Instructions:


    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a casserole dish.

    Brown ground meat with onion until cooked; drain excess grease. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme.

    Layer half the potatoes, followed by half the meat, in the dish. Repeat.

    Whisk sour cream and milk, pouring over the layers.

    Top with cheddar cheese. Bake covered for 45 minutes, then uncovered for 10 minutes.
