Deep-Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Wonton Bites


 

Ingredients:


For the Filling:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup diced fresh strawberries


For the Wontons:

16 wonton wrappers

1 egg, beaten (for sealing)

Vegetable oil, for frying


For the Topping:

Powdered sugar, for dusting

Strawberry sauce or whipped cream, for dipping (optional)


Directions:


Prepare the Filling:

In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in the diced strawberries.


Assemble the Wonton Bites:

Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center. Brush the edges of the wrapper with beaten egg, fold diagonally to form a triangle, and press firmly to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.


Heat the Oil:

In a deep skillet or saucepan, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).


Fry the Wontons:

Fry the wontons in batches, about 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.


Garnish and Serve:

Dust the wontons with powdered sugar and serve warm with strawberry sauce or whipped cream for dipping, if desired.
