Ingredients:
1 cup water
2 green tea bags
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
1 tbsp honey
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp agar-agar powder (or gelatin)
½ cup sugar (optional, for sweetness)
Preparation:
Steep the Tea: Boil the water and steep the green tea bags in it for about 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and set the tea aside to cool slightly.
Prepare the Mixture: In a small saucepan, combine the grated ginger, honey, lemon juice, and the green tea. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Add Agar-Agar: Sprinkle in the agar-agar powder (or gelatin) while stirring constantly to ensure it dissolves evenly. If you prefer sweeter chews, add sugar at this stage. Continue simmering for another 3-5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
Set the Chews: Pour the mixture into silicone molds or a small dish lined with parchment paper. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
Cut and Serve: Once set, remove the chews from the molds and cut into small pieces. Enjoy these refreshing, natural chews as a healthy, energizing snack!
