Ingredients 🛒

For the Meat Sauce:


1 lb ground beef

1/2 lb Italian sausage

1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes

1 (6 oz) can tomato paste

1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce

2 tsp sugar

2 tsp dried basil

1 tsp dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Cheese Mixture:


15 oz ricotta cheese

1 large egg

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tsp dried parsley)

Other Ingredients:


9 lasagna noodles, cooked according to package instructions

3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions 👩‍🍳

1️⃣ Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).


2️⃣ Prepare the meat sauce:


Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the ground beef, Italian sausage, and onion until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.

Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, sugar, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3️⃣ Prepare the cheese mixture: In a medium bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan, and parsley until smooth.


4️⃣ Assemble the lasagna:


Spread 1/3 of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Layer 3 lasagna noodles on top, followed by 1/3 of the ricotta mixture and 1 cup of mozzarella.

Repeat the layers two more times, finishing with the remaining meat sauce and mozzarella cheese.

5️⃣ Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.


6️⃣ Cool and serve: Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
