Baked Gnocchi with Sausage

 



Ingredients:

- 1 pound gnocchi  

- 1 pound Italian sausage (mild or spicy, your choice)  

- 1 cup marinara sauce  

- 1 cup ricotta cheese  

- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese  

- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese  

- 2 cloves garlic, minced  

- 1 tablespoon olive oil  

- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning  

- Salt and pepper to taste  

- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)


Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).  

2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.  

3. Add the Italian sausage to the skillet. Break it apart with a spoon and cook until it is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.  

4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, gnocchi, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.  

5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Spread it out evenly.  

6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top.  

7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.  

8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
