Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional for extra gooeyness)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan.
In a bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
In another bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. If using, fold in the chocolate chips or chunks.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
