 Cream Cheese Spinach Puffs



Flaky puff pastry filled with a creamy spinach and cheese mixture, making a delicious and easy-to-make party appetizer.

Ingredients:


1 sheet puff pastry

7 oz baby spinach

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tbsp olive oil

8 oz cream cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 egg

1 egg yolk (for brushing)

Pinch of salt

Pinch of black pepper

Directions:


Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

In a pan over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for about 2 minutes until softened.

Add spinach to the pan, season with salt and pepper, and cook until wilted. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Cut the puff pastry sheet into 6 or 12 squares and arrange them on the baking tray.

In a bowl, combine the cooked spinach, cream cheese, mozzarella, and egg. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper, mixing well.

Place a spoonful of the spinach mixture in the center of each square and fold opposite edges together, pressing firmly to seal.

Brush the tops of each puff with the egg yolk.

Bake for 25-35 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
