Banana Pudding Rice Krispie Treats

Experience the fusion of smooth banana pudding and gooey marshmallows with a crunch of Rice Krispies in every bite.



Ingredients:


Pudding:

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/2 teaspoon salt

5 cups milk

5 large egg yolks, lightly beaten

2 teaspoons vanilla extract


Layers:

1 box vanilla wafers (about 11 ounces)

6 large bananas, sliced

Whipped cream (optional, for topping)

1/2 cup rolled oats (for additional layers)

Instructions:


Make the Pudding:

In a medium saucepan, whisk together the sugar, flour, oats, and salt.

Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble.

Reduce the heat to low and cook for 2 more minutes.

Remove from heat and whisk in the egg yolks.

Return to heat and cook, stirring constantly, for an additional 2 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Assemble the Layers:

In a large bowl or a trifle dish, layer the vanilla wafers on the bottom.

Add a layer of sliced bananas on top of the wafers.

Sprinkle a layer of oats over the bananas.

Pour a layer of the pudding over the bananas, wafers, and oats.

Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of pudding on top.

Chill:

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight.

Serve:

Before serving, top with whipped cream if desired.

Garnish with additional vanilla wafers, banana slices, and oats.
