Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 6 slices American cheese
- Maple syrup for drizzling
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375F (190C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.
2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, milk, eggs, and melted butter.
4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Do not overmix.
5. Cook the breakfast sausage patties until browned and cooked through.
6. Fill muffin tin halfway with batter, place a sausage patty and a slice of cheese in each, then top with remaining batter.
7. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
