HONEY GARLIC SAUSAGE 🍯🧄
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb sausage (your choice: Italian, smoked, or bratwurst), cut into 1/2-inch slices or kept whole
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar (optional, for a tangy kick)
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Chopped fresh parsley or green onions, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS:
Brown the Sausage:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sausage slices (or whole links) and cook until they are browned on all sides and nearly cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté the Garlic:
Lower the heat to medium. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Create the Glaze:
Pour in the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar (if using), and red pepper flakes. Stir well, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Allow the sauce to come to a simmer.
Coat the Sausage:
Return the sausage to the skillet. Toss to coat well with the honey garlic sauce. Simmer for an additional 5–7 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and glazes the sausage. Taste and adjust salt and pepper if needed.
Garnish & Serve:
Sprinkle with chopped parsley or green onions. Serve hot on its own, over rice, or with your favorite side.
