Easy Cheese Danish

 


Craving something sweet and creamy for breakfast or brunch? This Easy Cheese Danish recipe is just what you need. Flaky, buttery pastry filled with a rich, creamy cheese filling – it's like a little piece of heaven in every bite!


Ingredients:


- 1 package puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed

- 8 oz cream cheese, softened

- 1/4 cup granulated sugar

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1 large egg yolk

- 1 cup powdered sugar

- 1-2 tbsp milk

- Fresh berries or jam for topping (optional)


Directions:


1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolk until smooth.

3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each into 4 squares.

4. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the center of each square.

5. Fold the corners of the pastry towards the center, pressing down gently to seal.

6. Place the danishes on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.

7. While the danishes cool, mix together the powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze.

8. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled danishes and top with fresh berries or jam if desired.
