Classic Bacon Cheeseburger with Arugula
Ingredients:
For the burger patties:
1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20 blend)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
For the toppings:
4 slices crispy bacon
2 slices cheddar cheese
1 cup fresh arugula
For the buns:
2 sesame seed brioche buns
1 tablespoon melted butter
Optional additions:
Mayonnaise or special burger sauce
Instructions:
Prepare the burger patties:
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Form the mixture into two patties, slightly larger than the size of the buns (they will shrink during cooking).
Cook the patties:
Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat.
Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side for medium doneness.
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
Cook the bacon:
In a separate skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until it’s crispy.
Drain on paper towels and set aside.
Toast the buns:
Lightly brush the sesame seed brioche buns with melted butter.
Toast the buns on a skillet or grill until golden brown.
Assemble the burger:
Spread mayonnaise or special sauce on the bottom half of the bun.
Layer with fresh arugula.
Place the cheese-covered patty on top, followed by crispy bacon.
Finish by adding the top half of the bun.
Serve:
Enjoy hot with fries, coleslaw, or your favorite side dish!
