🧀 Mozzarella Cheesesteak Stromboli 🥩
Ingredients:
1 (13.4 oz) can of classic refrigerated pizza dough
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1½ pounds of grilled sirloin steak, roughly chopped
Olive oil for cooking
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1½ tsp dried Italian seasoning, divided
1 tsp garlic salt, plus more to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
⅓ cup Parmesan-Peppercorn salad dressing
1 Tbsp melted butter
2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Sauté the onion and bell pepper in a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Season with 1 tsp Italian seasoning, garlic salt, and black pepper. Cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
Prepare Dough: On a clean surface, stretch the pizza dough into a 12x16 inch rectangle. Scatter half the mozzarella evenly over the dough.
Layer Ingredients: Distribute the chopped steak over the first layer of cheese. Add the sautéed onions and peppers evenly on top. Drizzle with the Parmesan-Peppercorn dressing and finish with the remaining mozzarella.
Roll the Stromboli: Starting at the longer side, roll the dough tightly, ending with the seam side down. Place it on the prepared baking sheet.
Season & Bake: Brush the top with melted butter, sprinkle with remaining ½ tsp Italian seasoning and a pinch of garlic salt. Top with grated Parmesan. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
Rest before Serving: Let the stromboli rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
