Lemon Pound Cake

 Lemon Pound Cake 🍋 Taking a swim in Lemon Glaze.......                      


                                   

All Ingredients Must Be At Room Temperature 

2 cups self-rising flour , sifted 

2 sticks butter

1 tsp. vanilla extract 

1 tsp. lemon extract 

2 cups sugar

5 large eggs

8 oz. sour cream

Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour Bundt pan. Beat butter until lightened in color , add sugar , mix well . Add sour cream, mix well.   Mix in eggs , one at a time. Add in vanilla and lemon extract , mix well . Add I cup of flour and mix just until blended. Add second cup of flour and mix just until blended . Spread batter into Bundt pan and bake 45-50 minutes , or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes on a rack .Turn out cake onto plate or cake stand. Allow to cool before glazing.

Lemon Glaze 🍋

1 1/2 -2 cups confectionary sugar , sifted

3-4 Tablespoons  lemon juice

Mix with whisk. 

Makes approx. 1 cup glaze
