Ingredients:

500g beef chuck, cut into chunks

200g fresh mushrooms, sliced

1 large onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

500ml beef broth

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions:

Brown the Beef: In a large pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef chunks and sear until browned on all sides. Remove beef and set aside.

Sauté the Aromatics: In the same pot, add the onions and garlic. Cook until the onions are translucent. Stir in the flour and cook for a minute more.

Combine and Simmer: Return the beef to the pot. Add the mushrooms, beef broth, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Add the herbs, cover, and let simmer for about 1.5 hours, or until the beef is tender.

Final Seasoning: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the stew cook uncovered for the last 30 minutes to thicken the sauce if desired.
