Apple Pecan Brie en Croûte with Cinnamon Honey Glaze 🍏🌰
A puff pastry-wrapped Brie filled with sweet caramelized apples and crunchy toasted pecans, baked to golden perfection, and drizzled with warm cinnamon honey for a deliciously cozy holiday treat.
Ingredients:
1 round Brie wheel (about 8 oz)
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 apple, thinly sliced
1/4 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg + 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for honey drizzle)
Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Caramelize the apples: In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the apple slices, brown sugar, and cinnamon, cooking until the apples soften and caramelize (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
3️⃣ Prepare the puff pastry: Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Place the Brie in the center of the pastry sheet.
4️⃣ Add the filling: Top the Brie with the caramelized apples and sprinkle with toasted pecans.
5️⃣ Wrap the Brie: Fold the puff pastry over the Brie, pressing to seal the edges. Use the egg wash to brush the folded pastry. Flip the wrapped Brie over so the seams are on the bottom. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
6️⃣ Bake: Brush the top of the pastry with more egg wash and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
7️⃣ Make the glaze: While the Brie is baking, gently warm the honey and cinnamon together in a small saucepan.
8️⃣ Serve: Drizzle the warm cinnamon honey over the baked Brie just before serving. Slice and enjoy!
