Apple Pecan Brie en Croûte with Cinnamon Honey Glaze 🍏🌰
A puff pastry-wrapped Brie filled with sweet caramelized apples and toasted pecans, baked to golden perfection, and topped with a warm cinnamon honey drizzle for a cozy, holiday-worthy appetizer.
Ingredients:
1 round Brie wheel (8 oz)
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 apple, thinly sliced
1/4 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg + 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for honey drizzle)
Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Caramelize the apples: In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the apple slices, brown sugar, and cinnamon, and cook until the apples soften and caramelize, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
3️⃣ Prepare the puff pastry: Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Place the Brie in the center of the pastry.
4️⃣ Add the filling: Top the Brie with the caramelized apples and sprinkle the toasted pecans over the apples.
5️⃣ Wrap the Brie: Fold the puff pastry over the Brie, sealing the edges. Brush the pastry with the egg wash for a golden finish.
6️⃣ Bake: Place the wrapped Brie on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed. Let cool for 5 minutes.
7️⃣ Make the glaze: While the Brie is baking, gently warm the honey and cinnamon in a small saucepan.
8️⃣ Serve: Drizzle the warm cinnamon honey over the baked Brie just before serving. Slice and enjoy with crackers or sliced baguette.
